This policy describes how Binge Yourself (“the app”), published by Cory Rupert (“I”, “me”), handles information. It applies to the iPhone and iPad apps.
Effective date: October 21, 2026
Who I am
Binge Yourself is an independent TV tracker. I do not operate my own servers for this app. Questions: coryrupert@gmail.com.
What the app stores
Binge Yourself stores information you create while using it, including:
- Shows you add, and whether each one is Watching, Backlog, or Completed
- Episodes you mark watched
- Streaming services you add
- Whether you want a reminder before a show airs
- Your appearance choice and the country used for air dates
That information stays on your device and syncs through your private iCloud database, as described below.
iCloud
Shows you follow, episodes you mark watched, and the streaming services you add sync with iCloud to your other iPhones and iPads that use the same Apple ID.
That data stays in your private iCloud database. I do not receive it, and I cannot see it. Apple stores it under Apple’s privacy policy.
TVMaze
Show names, artwork, episode lists, and air dates come from TVMaze. When you search or open a show, the app sends that request to TVMaze, including the show name or id and, for schedules, the country you chose.
I do not add an account or an advertising identifier to those requests. TVMaze handles them under TVMaze’s privacy policy.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders for a show, the app schedules a local notification on your device about one hour before an episode airs. Those reminders are optional, and you can turn them off for each show.
I do not send those notifications through a server, and they are not marketing messages.
What I do not collect
Binge Yourself does not:
- Ask me for your name, email, or password
- Use analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs
- Sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing
Your choices
- Remove a show, or move it between Watching, Backlog, and Completed.
- Turn reminders off for a show, or turn off notifications for Binge Yourself in iOS Settings.
- Delete the app to remove the copy on that device. The copy in iCloud stays with your Apple ID until you delete it in iCloud settings.
If you want help with a privacy request, email coryrupert@gmail.com.
Children
Binge Yourself is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, I will post the updated version at this URL and update the effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
